âWorkÂers of the VineÂyardâ is a conÂvent of the Chaldean Catholic DioÂcese of St. Peter the AposÂtle, USA, who have promised their gifts for dedÂiÂcated serÂvice to Christ and his Church in order that they might grow in holiÂness by fillÂing the needs of the DioÂcese and their
comÂmuÂnity, as directÂed by the Eparchial BishÂop.
The WorkÂers of the VineÂyard first began in 2007 as a house for disÂcernÂing lay women. It was estabÂlished by His ExcelÂlency, BishÂop Sarhad Yawsip JamÂmo as a house for young women to enter and disÂcern the will of the Lord. Today, the WorkÂers of the VineÂyard is a conÂvent of reliÂgious sisÂters. On May 10, 2012, two of the origÂiÂnal memÂbers who joined made their Final Vows.
We are Chaldean Rite Catholics and one of the EastÂern ChurchÂes in union with the Holy See. Chaldeans are descenÂdants of the ancient BabyÂloÂniÂans and make up the ChrisÂtÂian popÂuÂlaÂtion in Iraq. Due to war and perÂseÂcuÂtion, a majorÂiÂty of Chaldeans have left Iraq and are livÂing in difÂferÂent counÂtries around the world.
